Text Set: Ratio and Proportions

This is my text set for math. It is made to help students learn about ratios and proportions. I created it to have material that will help students who are struggling and students who are more advanced in this subject.

This is a website that I believe would be very helpful for students. You could assign it as homework or something for them to work on in class if there are computers. It is very interactive and guides students through modules of ratio and proportion problems. It is like an online tutorial.

This is a book that caught my eye when I saw it was described as a “short” book. Although it looks like a textbook, I think it would be very helpful. It is short and all about ratios and proportions. It even includes 30 helpful practice problems.

This is a great article that is an easy read. I think students would develop a better understanding for ratios and proportions. It explains them clearly and is very to the point.

This is a video telling a story of how ratios and proportions came to be. It is a funny story about a king trying to figure out an equation for a problem he has. Even though it is very simple and a little childish, the video explains step by step how to solve a proportion. It uses a story that makes it easy for students to remember.

This website is very interactive and gives students a lesson on ratios and proportions. It is very simple and to the point. It gives many example problems and very well done explanations.

Help With Proportions

This is a very simple website. It has a little reading about ratios and proportions and how to solve for them. Then it has a place where you can plug in numbers and see how the proportion works with numbers that you chose.

This text set would be very helpful for students at all different levels. I included some challenging websites with interactive games and I also included some readings and videos that teach ratios and proportions in a very simple manner. I believe that this would be a very helpful set of texts for students to use.
